Most of the paint on us in this photo is un-staged and sadly, NOBODY HAS NOTICED!! I knew I should have painted the hell out of all of us.
Anyway, so because nobody has noticed, our expressions make no sense at all and everyone who has got this card has replied "Lovely photo" as if it were our serious (and yet failed) attempt at a family picture...
Doesn't ANYONE get this joke? I think next year we have to go back to being unsubtle about it, sadly.
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!

Love it - yet another bullseye from you guys! Maybe the paint isn't the most obvious, but the martini glasses make up for it. It that a turtleneck Spud's wearing? Do they really still make those?! Love your outfit. I would have red wine on those pants in 5 minutes flat.
What a beautiful family, paint or not! And I love the way Spud has the death grip on the martini glass! Merry Christmas and wishes for many blessings in the coming year, from Susie in Vancouver.
I've realized more and more that some people just don't have a sense of humor. Happens to me a lot on my blog...but I would have laughed at this one, that is for sure!
Hi, I can’t understand how to add your site in my rss reader. Can you Help me, please :)
Love the Spud's huge grin, the Frog's haphazard collar and concerned look, and the visible paint specks on your cheek! Very funny, I'd say. Hope your Christmas was everything you wished!
Well I think it's hysterical! You're all mad. Love the candy cane flourish by Spud. Hope you had a wonderful time and that 2010 is perfect.
Brim over I to but I dream the collection should acquire more info then it has.
Paint looks pretty noticeable to me... and LOOK at how completely adorable you all are!!!
Merry Christmas! What a nice way to bond with the family and spend quality time! Your family is so adorable!
Love the deer in the headlights look on the Frog's face...Also, that you and the Spud are clearly in your element!
Merry Christmas!
Love it! I can't bear the American style postcards of picture perfect families, grinning from one ear to the other.
It's a brilliant picture and I love the fact that the paint seems to have got everywhere! It also looks as if your son has a cigar in his hand!! A belated Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas, Happy New Year.
I think the trouble is that it would be so embarrassing to say to someone "great joke, loved the hilarious photo, laughed out loud at you all", and then find out that it had been a serious picture. Therefore, everyone errs on the side of safety, and just says "loved the photo".
But thanks for sharing it with us, and I do think it's funny!
I think it just looks like a normal family photo..we always have glitter or paint or mud on us!
Hi everyone - I hope you all had very Merry Christmases too - sorry for not responding individually.
