No tears

I was woken up by a big kiss on my nose this morning, for a fraction of a second I thought it was the cat licking me - a new tactic to get me out of bed and over to his food bowl; but no, it was Charlie.

He wasn't that miserable that he'd missed his girlfriends leaving in the night (something he might be changing his mind about in another 15 years...) but he was very concerned about the where-abouts of his buses.

This morning he is sitting on the sofa trying manfully to raise a single eyebrow. The problem begins with the fact that he can't even raise them both together quite yet - if he was a girl I might be encouraging him now to keep it that way; I've been able to raise a single eyebrow since the age of 6 and it amazes me that my son hasn't tried to drive one of his trains across my forehead; there are enough lines there to handle the traffic at Clapham Junction.

Oh my. We have to leave the house in 5 minutes. I am in my nightie. Another line hits the forehead...

hi sparx, lovely to see you blogging again... don't be silly about the lines - bet there are none!

The lines are genetic - there's nothing you can or could have done! Mine are the same and they look like my Dad's, whose look like your grandads...now all we can do is use them to our best advantage! Opportunities will present themselves with increasing frequency in the next 5-6yrs...

Hi Elsie - thanks so much hon - and yes, it's all very upsetting.

Glummy - thanks so much and for your other comments!

Cousin!!!! Lord is that the truth? All this time I thought it was my over-active eye-brows and it's just genetics???? Dang.

DJ - yes is bad but you too - we're in it together... let's talk books soon!

Darth - I'm awful, like you I pass by so infrequently... you made me laugh like a drain many times. Oh, and can I just say, the Frog has a new bionic ear thanks to you! The miracle of the internet.

My husband does the one eyebrow thing and so does Jonathan now. It is very entertaining.

I remember practising in front of the mirror in order to perfect my one eyebrow raising...my Dad and Grampa could both do it and I hated the fact that I couldn't!

Hope you managed to get clothes on before heading out the door :-)

We should get together and go on stage with single-eyebrow-raising. I am not even doing it on purpose. Which isn't always nice...

Carol - yes, it was a mad dash - my entire life seems to be a mad dash these days...

Darth - ha!!

Metropolitan Mum - me too!!!! I am not one for the Botox but still... keeping those babies still would do wonders for my aging process...
